If I land an engineering internship this coming summer (I'm praying), I'm thinking about getting a summer/project car.

Criteria:

- Manual (duh, my current DD is a Camry autotragic).

- RWD.

- Most likely Japanese.

I was looking at Z's (s30-z32), SW20 MR2's, MK3 Supras, and 240zx's.

The list of RWD, manual, Japanese cars isn't all that long is it? At least beyond what you posted. The only other ones that comes to mind are RX-7 and Miata.

Regardless, sounds awesome.

There is nothing wrong with an automatic Camry or ES300. Toyota makes awesome cars.

How much do you want to spend? This is the most important question.

Thanks! I hope I get one, and I know, don't worry, I love my Camry! Awesome, comfortable, and super practical for my university life.

Price? Ideally, around 5-6 grand, not looking for anything showroom quality, but a car that's in good driving condition (and not rusting out its ass either, a problem in southern Ontario).

How about a Previa? I think they were sold up there, and yes, manual transmission was available on it. Of course Miata has to be an option too, right?

If it doesn't have to be Japanese, consider the Ford Ranger or Aerostar. Why not the Fiero as well?
